Primary Open Angle Glaucoma
Primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) is a type of glaucoma that is caused by elevated eye pressure and buildup of fluid in the eye. This buildup of fluid increases the pressure inside the eye, which can damage the optic nerve. The optic nerve is responsible for sending visual information to the brain. POAG is the most common type of glaucoma and can run in families.
If you have any questions or concerns about POAG, talk to your eye doctor.
